What is a Pump and Dump Group?
The pump and dump, an age-old scheme to quickly raise the value of a crypto coin asset and then selling it to reap the profits from the price increase. It is also extremely popular in the world of Blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and digital assets.
Pumping is the process through which a large group of people agree to buy a certain coin at a particular time. Within a group, you will have large amounts of people buying a coin at the same time. This will pump the price straight up. After this the dumping part comes in. After the price rises tremendously up because of the pumping, we start selling at a good profit. This is called dumping.
The pumping process itself is well-organized. Group leaders provide specific instructions to their members that include the exact time a pump will occur (translated into multiple time zones), what exchange the pump will take place on, what the “target” inflation price is, how the pump signal will be provided.
After the pump signal is given, group members flood the chosen exchange, buying up as much of the coin as they can for cheap. Members are also expected to promote the coin on social media in order to create buzz around it, which is intended to attract new investors to the currency.
Example:
On January 13, Mega Pump-Crypto Group announced the pump of the day would be GVT, a four-month-old Russia-based altcoin created by an apparently product-less company called Genesis Vision. All of Mega Pump-Crypto Group Signal’s take place on the cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
Thirty-four seconds before the pump signal was given for GVT in the general chat room, the coin was trading for approximately $29.22, according to data collected by CoinMarketCap. Almost immediately afterwards, it began to rise in value. Four minutes and 16 seconds after the pump signal, it was at $35.05, and at nine minutes and 16 seconds post-pump-signal it had reached its peak at $45.41. Anyone who invested immediately and dumped right at the peak could have potentially earned a 55.51 percent return on their investment. In other words, if a participant invested the equivalent of $1,000 immediately after the signal dropped and happened to randomly guess when the peak would be and sold exactly then, they would have made $1,555.10 (minus the .1 percent trading fee charged by Binance and any fees for withdrawing their money from the exchange).

Group communication
To communicate and organize the pump, the groups use Discord servers
Discord offers the possibility to create macro sections and host multiple chat rooms. Each section has its own topic.
•Info and How-Tos: These two sections are like an electronic bulletin board with pinned messages. Both sections are composed of several rooms that contain only one or very few messages.
•Signal: This is the core section of the group, in which only the admins can write. Inside this section there are usually two rooms:
The pump-signal, and the trading-signal.
In the first room, the admins share info about the next pump and dump operation. In the second, they share trading advices.
•Discussion: in this section, there are rooms covering different topics where the group members can freely chat.Usually, the messages written in the news and in the pump-signal rooms are broadcasted to the Telegram channel as well.
A few days or hours before the operation the admins announce that the pump and dump will happen and communicate which is the exchange that will be used,the exact starting time of the operation, and whether the operation will be FFA (Free for All—everybody gets the message at the same time) or Ranked (VIPs and members of higher levels in the hierarchy get the starting message before the other members).•The announce is repeated several times, more frequently as the starting time of the operation gets closer
.•When the pump starts, the target cryptocurrency is revealed to the members of the group.
Earnings:
- A regular investor can earn from 15-20% up to 500% or sometimes even more. It also depends on the volume of investment, group size ( members), and social media hype/announcements.

Requirements:
- A Binance account ( earn up to 20% commission every time you make a trade on Binance )
- Discord account and app
Currency used in Pumps:
Almost every Pump&Dump is using the BTC currency for trading.
So at the time when pump starts you need BTC in your account so you can buy the specified coin. The coin is announced in the following format
Xxx/BTC (ADA/BTC)

How much to invest in a Pump?
-I would recommend starting with small amounts ( 50 - 200$ ) for beginners. This is just a caution measure for you to get used with the trade and how pump works. Once you are familiar with it, it is up to you how much you want to invest. The bigger the amount invested the bigger the earnings.

Tips:
Even though the group admins are broadcasting the coin signal on Discord and Telegram, I would suggest you to follow and watch the Discord channel first. Telegram sometimes is showing up the coin signal message with couple of seconds delay and that’s not really great for you as you will lose precious seconds. You can keep the telegram open just for info but stay on Discord for the coin announcement first!

What are the biggest pump and dump groups?
There are many discord pump&dump groups now. However most of them are small sized ( couple of thousands members) but still growing.
These groups are having regular weekly pumps ( 2-3times/week) but the earnings are not really that great ( ROI between 10 – 30 %)
The biggest groups where real money are made have around 50-200k members and this is where the money are .
