Thanks, King Crimson for the share. Full reps added.

I just wondered why do marketers have to put ridiculous values on their products? I mean, $5,451 value for just $8 - seriously? It just screams 'Bulls...' and puts me off straight away.

Yes, it would cost you much more than $8 if you had to source it yourself on even Fiverr, but I could pay for some seriously good product if I invested $5k+ on getting it produced.

This is not a slur on the product itself, which is no doubt excellent value for $8, but on the exaggerated value of it.

I am interested to know what others think. Is this extreme exaggeration of the value of a product a good marketing ploy?

RE: Get} Relentless Drive
Hi DogsDinner,

ALL PLR creators base their product's marketing to appeal to people (aka noobs) who WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING WITH IT.

They most likely won't turn it into a product and market it to the public - online or off.

It is the PROMISE of RICHES that is based on a (fake) DREAM that keeps them dreaming about 'the big score'. Sellers know this - because they are also dreaming of the big score. That's why they use enormously absurd rhetoric and claims. It's a DREAM, not a business.

If you see enough of these 'releases' you'll quickly see that they follow a pretty standard pattern - hilariously exaggerated sales copy promoting a FE, OTO, OTO1, OTO2 - all the way up to OTO8-10 (from a recent crap-fest).

These products are not designed for resale - they are for the BUYERS of the dream of riches without much effort. Of course there's a feedback loop there because the buyers of the PLR are themselves dreamers of riches who are hoping to meet a market with less resistance then they had.

If you've ever actually produced a product and sold it online and off (yes, I have done that) then you know it takes a LOT of work to produce online and off, and you almost never reach your sales goals because it's hard to keep people's attention when more crooked...uh, 'optimistic' sellers BLOW UP THE BIG DREAM to break down sales resistance.

Anyway, just my $.02, YMMV!

RE: Get} Relentless Drive
I turn plr products into free membership websites,
(I offer video, .pdf transcripts, audio)
and use them as lead magnets,
then market to the members on the back end.

...Affiliate products, pre-written email swipes,
(that have been re-written)
some adsense on certain content pieces
(created outside the plr package),
a backlinking strategy etc...

They're great for that! Thanks for this share OP

I do customer acquisition thru low cost FB ads,
along with a very modest monthly adwords campaign.

I run 14 of these little gems and they never fail to
produce more than they cost.

I'm in the process of scaling the whole thing up to see if it
will work with an elevated marketing budget.

Never know what problems you'll encounter when scaling of course.

King Crimson: Thank you and max reps.

Kaiser Soze: Max reps also. Have you considered writing an eBook to teach others how to do it the right way? I'd be happy to help you publish in trade for what I learn.
