Has anyone here made $$$ with a mining rig ??

Hi Folks.
I ran across a book claiming that you could build a rig with an RPi 3 and a little mining board for under $99 to do this and I checked it out a bit.

So 1st I wish to ask:
Has anyone here done something like this and made $$$ beyond the costs of the rig and electricity ??

There were also ways to do it via Android - but those became obscure when the goog monster banned all the mining apps from its store.

Back to the book=>
It was more than a little innaccurate starting with the parts needed:
- It claims the RPi is under $35, but a bare one is over $40;
- It claimed the mining board could be had for under $30, but they are around $50 now;
- It requires a 64GB microSD card, whatever that may cost;
- It totally left out the need for a dedicated power supply which adds another $10 or more;
- The mining board its info is for is no longer being sold, so it seems likely that some of the important info will not work as given;
- There is no way to contact the author to ask for updated info.
