I'm back because I was asked a question via PM that I believe some here will benefit from the response.

I was asked about setting up an alternate Gmail account and whether I used the same phone number for the new account as the existing one.

It's been a long time since I set up a brand new Gmail account so I can't really remember but I believe I used one phone number.

I have a separate email for the following purposes:

* To use a different (new) Mega account when I run short of space and don't feel like upgrading

* To use a different Gmail account for logging in to a blackhat forum site (I get the email to match my forum username)

* Other varied accounts that restrict or limit what you can do in some way or another.

Nowadays, it's common for everyone in a single household to have their individual phone numbers on a family plan, etc. but it wasn't so long ago that members of a family under one roof used the home landline as their contact number. So, it's not so strange (even now) that more than one person will have the same phone number and I don't think the Powers That Be at Google will deny you an email setup using the same number they already have on file.

In fact, they may tell you they have another account on file with the number and suggest you register it as an alternate way for them to reach you (or vice versa) should something happen with your new email.

I can tell you that I have one main email I use (and it's not a Gmail account) as my go-to contact should one of my emails get hacked into or I can't log in. Gmail will then be able to reach me with updates about what's happening with my account.

BUT IF YOU RUN INTO A PROBLEM ...

There is a work-around for just about everything known to man ... and this is no exception.

If you have a cell phone and a home number, use one of them as your alternate. I have Ooma and I guard it with my life. Only my sister back in Louisiana and a very good friend have that number ... for everything else (appointments, etc.) I use a cell phone.

But I digress ...

If you're asked for an alternate phone and you have used the only number you have with a previous Gmail account, here is a link to tell you how to get a fake phone number that will ring to your current phone. It conceals your phone number from people you don't want to have it but should they use the number, it will ring ... or send a text message, etc., to your phone.

To set up another account, use a VPN (like free Windscribe) to hide your IP address and use a totally different username and different (alternate) email. You can do this by setting up a new email in Google (Gmail) email. Just remember to use a password management app like Roboform to keep your passwords organized.

I suggest that (if you can afford it) you get a paid account on Deepbrid or Real-Debrid ... both great services that do the same thing the FREE Multishare account does but supports more than twice the number of file host servers. Multishare supports 35 whereas Deepbrid, for example, supports more than 80! Depending on the plan you buy (I have an entire year subscription and I only paid little more than $35 for it!) you won't need to worry about file size or the number of files you can download per day.

So now you can grab all the goodies from premium links (when you find ones that are still live). The most frustrating part of all this is finding links that still work. When you get dead links, you can look for the course on other free course download sites. I write about many of them here on the forum as well as post them in my LAYNA'S LINK LETTER shares.

If you want to download those newsletters, you can search for them by that title ... I have issues up for June 2019 through current.

So, that's my advice. I hope this information helps.

Hi Layna, thanks for finding out what Debris is. I am happy. Debris is a great tool and I can obtain many seeks for a few price. I too use Realdebris to see multimedia through the Stremio App and Torrentio, which I highly recommend.
