You're right. It's a pre-created account with specific email. You can't change the email unfortunately.

I use the accounts to activate license in my laptop (so emails don't matter) and also use as backup storage (5TB!).

Not sure if your version matches the latest one. But you can always download the latest update in official website and just fill in the given email address and password. Then it'll be activated forever.
