I must admit that I find it hard to believe that the author would try to protect his work considering the philosophy he/she shares in the book, food for thought..

Um, I'm not sure what you're trying to say here, what you mean by "food for thought"-

If the author blocked the work then he blocked the work, which really means to me grab the Zippy share quick- And maybe try to put it up on Mega?

I see mention of the author in that 2013 thread - yes - but it is long gone.
When looking at the URL shared for it, one gets only this:
