How to remove a website name from a video???
Hey Guys,

So I downloaded a course I want to share here on BBHF but the mp4 videos have the name of the site I downloaded it from at the top of the video as it plays. The original files obviously wouldn't have had this.

Any idea how I can get rid of it....btw I'm using a Mac.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion scorpio, that looks hella complicated :O and from what it says it only works on white semi-transparent logos.

This is just some red writing at the top of the video.

The ironic thing is that the site in question got the source video from one of my shares on here and then added their website name to it so as to look like it was their original.

My copy was deleted by Mega and I have members here asking for it to be uploaded and don't have my original anymore.

You could add your own banner at the top that covers the website name.

RE: How to remove a website name from a video???
1 - Maybe try asking around in the original thread to see if anyone got your original 'clean' share, as you mentioned having posted it previously without a watermark. Did anyone get a chance to make a copy before it got deleted on you?

2 - Maybe try putting a slightly bigger, darker coloured watermark over-top the current watermark.

3 - Maybe for a best practice, like myself, get 2 Mega accounts: Once files are uploaded to your 'personal' acc, then share a copy with your other Mega acc., before then sharing a link to the secondary account. That way, if the publicly shared link gets hit (as predictable as it is), then at least you have your personal files ready to go again.

4 - Good Luck and please Let us Know how you work things out - is there a magic logo/watermark video removal tool that you find which can also be shared too?

All the Best!

I think that might be the easiest course of action to take but I'm totally clueless when it comes to video editing so any pointers on how to do that would be gratefully received.

I've kinda found a walk around I think, since the text is at the very top of the page and doesn't cover vital info I can crop it out in iMovie but it seems to about double the file size...but oh well.

Thanks for all the input guys.

RE: How to remove a website name from a video???
ffmpeg would work. You just need to work out the size and top-left coordinate of the box you want to draw (based on the size of the video and with the top left corner being 0,0.

Then just use a command like:
ffmpeg -i in.mp4 -vf drawbox=x=10:y=50:w=300:h=50:color=black:t=max out.mp4

setting x, y, w (width) and h (height) for what you want and changing in.mp4 to the file name of the video. Supply the name for the desired output file instead of out.mp4 - use the same extension (e.g. mp4) for the input and the output. This will just draw a black box onto the video, which you can use to hide the log.
