I read that you can still use it without activation. Activation is for is for automatic updates of the theme.
I personally don't see it as a big deal because you can get updates in the forum.

Its better to null the activation as it callhome your site.

Not sure if I would want to chance using this if it's not nulled in a production environment. All you have to do is installed it on a local instance of WAMP and use fiddler to see the calls going home.

Very nice share! From the demo it seems to be a good theme. How to solve the activation issue? What happen if one does not activate the theme (what is a callhome)?

open Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_cake.php
go to line 5 and remove the // from //td_util::update_option('td_cake_status', '2');

(also as a doble check for the call homes change the addres from lines 15 16 201 213)
