I believe as long as you give credit as to where the source of the image is from you will be ok (ie: image source getty images) But don't quote me Maybe someone who might know a little more might enlighten us on this issue? . Not only is this copyright infringment for the images, but for the text it pulls as well. Having said that, the big viral sites he mentions, i.e. Buzzworthy etc., all do the same thing. Most of them only search through other sites for potentially viral content, then rewrite the headline to make it more viral, and slightly alter the text maybe, if there is any. They put a tiny little link at the bottom to the original.
In terms of copyright, if you hotlink to an image, it is not considered infringement. This is why you can legally embed YouTube videos on your site. Not sure if this plug-in hotlinks images or not. |
