Flip Your World

-Promote Amazon products through Facebook
-create a Facebook Page on your topic and provide valuable info

Pick A Topic
-not by searched based (don't pick one based on if you can rank in Google)
-choose a niche where people tend to buy products
-brainstorm a list of hobbies you like, interests
-come up with an angle for your niche
ex: "Planning a romantic date" for Valentine's Day (topic)
-also need a cool and catchy title
ex: "The Perfect Date" for Valentine's Day (topic)

Set Up A Small Site
-you can use a free blogging service if you want
ex: Blogger
-need a site to show its a real entity
-make sure to link to your Facebook page and vice versa
-customize your blog
-use same header image for blog and Facebook page
-make sure to include a text box that has the Amazon Associates disclosure statement
-add five simple posts
-can be text or video
-make sure to include a Top 5 or 10 Items post using Amazon Products with affiliate links

Facebook Page Step-by-Step
-log into Facebook account
-Create a Page and choose Company, Organization or Institution and select appropriate
category
-enter description, URL and name of page (same as site)
-when asked if it is a real organization, answer "Yes" or it won't be shown on news feeds
-choose a profile image (180px x 180px) that is eye catching
-add a cover image (851px x 315px)-cannot be more than 20% text
-connect site to Facebook page using Like/Fan box on site

Build Up The Content
1. Grab the url of your blog posts and paste in status
-add a comment
2. Share from related pages
-use Facebook as personal profile, not the Page profile and find related pages and like
them
-scan the page for visually attractive posts that would fit with the topic of your own
Page
-click the share button under the post and choose to share item on a Page You Manage
3. Google Search
-Use Facebook as Page, not personal
-search Google for sites that have content related to your niche and click the share
button under the post or article and share them on your page
4. Create Common Photos (creativecommons.org)
-search for images from Flickr (that allows you to use for personal or commercial)
-must be related to niche (images should be altered to be (408px x 408px)
-post image as status update on Page
-when posting, make sure to attribute the photo owner by including their URL
5. Youtube
-Use Facebook as Page, not personal
-search for videos related to your topic
-click the share button
-or you can just paste the video URL in a status update
-share two items per day on Page
-mix it up

Making Tabs
-add 3 tabs: a Video tab, Store Tab and Disclosure
1. Video Tab
-find Playlists on Youtube that match your topic (must have at least 5 good videos)
-copy Playlist ID from the Youtube URL (at the end)
-sign up at tintup.com
-add a tint and enter the Playlist ID and click +Add
-give you new tint a name and click "Create"
-once you are done, click on the Embed option on the left sidebar
-use the <HTML> option if you have a free Tint account or the Facebook pages option
if you want to upgrade
-Create a Woobox Custom Tab
-paste in the Tint embed code
2. Disclosure Tab
-use Woobox again to create a Custom Tab
-static HTML app
-post Amazon Disclosure statement

Getting Likes
-like the page yourself
-invite friends
-share a page post using your personal profile
-Growing likes for free
-every day spend 30-60 minutes
1. Go through profile feeds of related pages that you have likes and see if you can find
something that would be
a good addition to your page and share the good ones
2. Find new photos, videos and links and add to page
3. Like comments people have left on your Page
4. Comment on comments people have left on your page
5. Comment on related material on Other Pages
6. Like and follow more related pages to get more streams in the feeds of your personal
profile

Promoting Products
-setup an aStore
-click on the aStore tab in Amazon Associates dashboard
-click button to create a new aStore
-select trackign ID and continue
-click the Add a Category button
-fill in details, select products and save
-give the store a name (match it to your site and Facebook page)
-choose a widget to add to your blog
-get Link
-choose option to embed the store using an inline frame and copy the code
-add aStore to site (use HTML editor and paste code)
-create a custom tab on Facebook for your aStore
-use Woobox again
-choose the redirect option and paste in your site URL for your aStore
-give tab a name and upload an image (111px x 74px)
-Note that you cannot embed the store on Facebook Page as Amazon Associates won't allow it
based on Facebook restrictions

Facebook Ads For Likes
-can get a $50 promotional credit
-go to page and click on "Promote Page)
-takes a ton of testing

Posting Affiliate Links on Your Facebook Page
-you can also post affiliate links on timeline
-If you write something compelling, your followers might further share your post and link
-its important that people like you so use a soft sell
-Ways to Soft Sell:
-Periodic Store Announcement
-The Cheap Deals
-The New Releases
-The After Holiday Sale
-Big Sales Days (Black Friday, Cyber Monday etc)
-This is Bizarre or I Hate It When
-to grab an affiliate link, log onto Amazon, make sure Associates Stripe is enabled then go
to a product you want to promote and click the share on Facebook option in the Associates
Stripe Bar

Scaling Up
-build more pages in a variety of niches
-get more likes to your pages
-split test products
-drive Facebook page traffic to an opt-in list

It was an OK course. It had a good premise, but I thought that the FB Ads section was lacking. There should have been more information such as using custom audiences for targeting etc. Also she repeatedly says that all you need to do is post on your page and everyone will see it, which isn't true. In order to get everyone to see your post and have to spend a little money on ads each time you post.

Scale takes growth – either a greater audience on one page or tending multiple pages
Continue to add quality content
Consider expanding the site that you built
