Sneaky Trick #2. Subject lines symbols

Goal: Get subscribers attention.

#1. Select the right symbol and that makes sense. The more relevant, the more attention they will grab.  Wikipedia/Emailstuff.com

#2. Test in multiple email clients. Especially Mobile!

#3. Don't over do it!

“Second subject Line”, like a subheadline.

4. Delivery Timing

Timing is hugely important. The best times to mail are 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM

BEST DAYS: Tuesday - Thursday

Big tip: Weekends are great for low-dollar and lead-gen offers.

Avoid the morning purge

Show up after the morning purge.

5. Link placement

3 links in every single email.

1. Intro 2. Body 3. Close/P.S.

First link is the most important. if they don't click there, you have to change the mechanism. the next one should be benefit. The third should be scarcity.

6. Email video fakeout

Use alt image tags. img src=”logo.jpg” width=”” height=”” alt=”meet-see-you-later”

7. Encouraging Engagement

Getting in the inbox. Engagement = highest priority in all marketing systems.

Basic engagement is mesured by:

Open Rate
Read rate
Click rate
Bounce rate
Spam complaint rate

Engaging your subscribers.

1. Who sent the email?
2. What terms the email includes (if you always read about something, its likeley that a new email about that will be in the primary inbox).
3. The actions that help determine which people/terms are important include: replying, using stars, archiving, deleting.

How do you prove your emails are important?

1. Have a conversation with your subscribers
2. Get subscribers to “star” your emails
3. Get subscribers to create a tag or folder for your emails
4. Get subscribers to forward your emails
5. Get subscribers to share your emails on social media

Tell them the benefits and why its important.

Should have a page on your site to whitelist us.

1. Design should be simple

2. Include a view

3. Focus on making a immediate impact with your content and less on the design.

4. Invest in a mobile opt-in process make it easy for people on mobile devices to suscribe to your mailing list

Regular post or newsletter you send every week.

Remember: dont want your free content to look different from the promotional content.
