“Clever YouTube Plugin”
Embed YouTube Videos for stylish Marketing Presentations, informational displays, or just some eye candy.
his
WordPress Plugin will enable you to control various properties of the
YouTube video player--like the color and resolution. You can also insert
your own attractive image in place of YouTube's default thumbnail
image. And, the player can be setup to run your own HTML or Javascript
code--once the video is done playing. This means that you can insert a
"call-to-action" at the end of each video on your website--that prompts
the visitor to carry on to the next step in your marketing funnel.
Look below for some video samples! And for even more samples, this is the same plugin i'm currently using on my own websites of course! Go checkout the big videos scattered around the homepages at:
KeywordOrganizer.org and KeywordResearcher.org.
So, how does the plugin work
In the three videos below, we'll explain how the Clever YouTube Plugin helps you embed stylish YouTube videos on your website.
360p video vs. 480p video
In the below widget, we've rendered a
360p video on the LEFT, and a 480p video on the RIGHT.
One of the big problems
with simply embedding your videos via YouTube's default embed code, is
they DO NOT let you embed 480p videos by default. You can change the
'video size" but this won't change the quality setting. It just
stretches the low quality 360p video. Instead, you need to use a plugin
to tell YouTube which Video Quality Setting you'd like to use. Below,
we're using the higher resolution setting of 480p.
(Use your mouse and drag the orange slider Left and Right to see the difference between 360p and 480p video resolutions.)
Screenshots of The Clever YouTube Plugin
We've created several example videos below that showcase various features available in the Clever YouTube Plugin. Check it out!
Sample 1: Marketing Videos
In the below video sample, we are spoofing an ad for the infamous Dollarshaveclub.com website. Fast-forward to the end of the video and notice how an email optin box is displayed once the video is done playing. This is because, the Clever YouTube Plugin allows you to insert HTML (or JavaScript) you like. In this example, I inserted some Aweber code to call the email form.
Sample 2: Software Instructional Video
In the below video sample, we're showcasing our other app "Keyword Organizer." Note that this video was originally
recorded at a resolution of 854x480. And, it is displayed below at the
same resolution. (At its true native 480p form.) That's why the screenshots look crisp and clean and easy on the eyes. Because you're seeing every pixel as they were originally recorded.
Sample 3: Visual Videos
In the below video sample, we're showing a video with a player size of 980 x 551 set to 480p. The Clever YouTube Plugin also allows you to select higher quality playback levels like 720p and 1080p. The video features the viral video by photographer Jon Rawlinson, of the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Japan.
In the below video sample, we're showing a High Definition (HD 720p) video--occupying a 1200 pixel wide
video player. You very rarely want to show videos in 720p. Because they're huge! And many web surfers won't have the patience to wait for them to load. But I placed this here to showcase how great High
Definition videos can look when played at their true size.
Sample 4: Slide-out Info Videos
In the below video sample, the below three paragraphs are being used to describe each individual Photoshop
tutorial video. Then the user can click the link and the Clever YouTube Plugin will "slide-out" the associated YouTube video. You'll also notice how a unique video face has
been created for Iceflow Studios--in place of the default YouTube thumbnail. This lets us do a little branding on our videos and gives a
more uniform look to are website.
Sample Photoshop Tutorial 1: We'll go over the "color splash effect" and show you how to use it color in your images in Photoshop CS6. This method also works in previous
versions of Photoshop so make sure to check out the other tutorials.
Video: Applying the Photoshop Color Splash Effect.
Sample Photoshop Tutorial 2: We'll go over a method to turn an ordinary photo into a winter wonderland using selections, Adjustment Layers, and brushes! Make sure to check outmy other Photoshop tutorials.
Video: Create a Winter Wonderland in Photoshop
Sample Photoshop Tutorial 3: We'll go over a way to create your own "Annoying Orange" look--and add a face
to your fruits or vegetables. Here's a Photoshop tutorial on how you can do that, with a pumpkin! Happy Halloween!
Video: Create a pumpkin face effect.
Sample 5: Cinemegraphs
In the below video sample, a Cinemegraph (an animated GIF that seamlessly loops) has been placed atop the Clever YouTube Plugin player. You may also notice that the videos don't start
at the beginning. With the Clever YouTube Plugin, you can start the YouTube video wherever you like.
You simply type in a value that reflects the number of seconds (from the beginning) at which you'd like the video to start playing.
Sample 6: Newser Videos
In the below video sample, there's a grid of YouTube news videos that are positioned in a similar format to the famous Newser.com website. The Clever YouTube Plugin has a field in which you can insert "Newser.com style" text that floats above the video thumbnail.
Amazing jump by Felix Baumgartner in an amazing historic leap.
Leopard in Afghanistan causes trouble.
Housing market is showing recovery.
Kate Middleton is pregnant.
Ugly Christmas
sweater ideas
for your family.
New baby safety system might be dangerous.
Sample 7: Comic Book Layout
In the below video sample, there are three Clever YouTube Plugin video players embedded in a table. The cells of the table itself contain images that
make up the large "Simon's Cat" picture you see below. For some fun, try clicking all three red play buttons at the same time.
Sample 8: Eye Candy for Designers
In the below video sample, the Clever YouTube Plugin is immersed in a table (with images around it). You'll notice an image overlay--a "masked" PNG images that appear to "float" over the video. Also, the border glows slightly thanks to an animated GIF.
Sample 9: More Eye Candy
In the below video sample, the Clever YouTube Plugin features a PNG of white windows--placed atop the actual
video player. The player is placed in between a table with 4 cells--which hold the background elements like the flowers and the
surfboard.
