1.Setup a site+squeeze page+oto thank you page.
2.Hire people to write press release.
3.Hire people to submit press release.
Author says that it can bring 1000! visits to your site and 300 subscribers but i think it's almost bulshit.
Why?
1.Because you don't know how press release will be submitted.
2.You don't know that it will go to Google news.

The real trick is not so much the press release but making a good press release that gets people's attention. Most press releases are boring, so there's not much competition :-)
During 2012 we ran a whole series of offline press releases to promote a product we sold via classifieds, display ads and press releases. We did no SEO or online promotion. We had over 220,000 hits on our site, built a pretty decent list of local people and made over £350,000 in sales. Advertising costs were around £30,000 or so, press releases were free...
The same principle works with online press releases...
The trick is to find some connection between what you are selling and something currently in the news. e.g. if you're selling a make money online course you might connect with news about rising unemployment - 'Man offers solution to UK's rising unemployment'. (OK, it's off the cuff, I'm no Dan Kennedy:-) ).
For inspiration look to the tabloids. Their headlines always tend to be compelling...
