Man, I downloaded all of these, and every one I installed was missing a CSS file and would not install. I wasted a hell of a lot of time just on the downloads. It seems like my luck with this stuff is just screwed.

Sorry.... but you are making a mistake somewhere.
I just uploaded and tested a theme and it works 100%
All these themes are free to use , or are commercial themes which were nulled AND free to use

The theme club holds PLR / reseller licenses to the themes.
Some of them are GPL, so they don't even need a license.
Some themes come with sources, so the THEME FILE is inside the big ZIP.
There are some site mirrors included in the downloads (usually a 'nice name'.zip file). These INCLUDE EVERYTHING to set up a whole niche site - the database, WP, the theme and all plugins with proper configuration.
So, just look into the ZIPs to find out...
