I agree, no need to be paranoid about it.
Similarily, aweber can read your mails, and so gmail knows what you did last summer by reading your mails.
This looks like just one simple little tool to make simple pages, nothing fancy.
I Don't quite understand the authors model (ads?, premium acct?).
An even simpler setup would have been to skip all the FTP step and host the generated pages on his server, with option to download generated stuff if you wish to host your own.
