So, you'll save the money by not having to buy the domain name and it will stay like that, noone can take it down. Isn't that just perfect?

Well, you have exact subdomain, and if the main domain is well established, AND you get the subdomain indexed using those techniques explained in the document, it SHOULD make no difference... IMHO.
Yeah i guess, also if you live in Russia you can do whatever you want, or any other country that doesnt extradict their citizen to USA. (Možda balkan?)
