Besides the basics that everyone needs to have that money supplies - food, shelter, etc.
Does it seem reasonable that we want to have money so we can do good things with it - like contribute to charity, or help people?
I know that I feel bad about myself when I cannot contribute when asked to do so (especially by kids) - I suppose it is a form of arrogance, or pride, but it seems to be a factor in what motivates me to do better (and I have a long way to go).
