Per Wikipedia “a landing page, sometimes known as a lead capture
page, is the page that appears when a potential customer clicks on an
advertisement or a search-engine result link.” Simply put, mobile
landing pages are mobile enabled web pages that show up on mobile
devices. They can be used for a multitude of things such as opt-in
pages for mobile advertising campaigns, coupons, sharing personal
details as in a personal card, a place to send mobile SMS opt-ins, etc.
but they are not as large as typical pages so when someone lands on a
mobile page, it needs to give your potential customer the info he or she
needs fairly immediately.

Mobile is a fast medium, so you only have a small window of
opportunity to grab someones attention. That is why your mobile
landing pages must communicate your message quickly.

Up until now, mobile landing pages in WordPress were not particularly
easy to format. You could use a mobile website plugin, but specific
landing pages didn’t look great.

In the example to the left, the site had a Facebook like plugin as
well as another widget that format’s a bit weird. The other issue is
that you can’t adjust the pages easily. If you want to just show a
header and an image, some text, etc. the basic WordPress page screen is
not adapted for the size of a mobile device.

There are monthly services that build mobile websites and mobile
pages, but they are expensive and hard to configure. None that I know
integrate with any auto responder. There is one that integrates with
Awebber and is $67.00 a month. Add that to the fact that you are
sending people to another site and not yours, you can see why having the
ability to create a good mobile landing page in WordPress is important.

If you are sending customers coupons via SMS or are advertising on
mobile networks, you need a good mobile landing page and the ability to
adjust it on the fly.
