I'm pretty new to email marketing but I come from a computer programming background, so I thought I would give it a try and see what kind of results I could get. You can acquire pretty good email lists from this forum (and others) with 100,000+ opt-in emails. These are people that have already opted into a list and are interested in Internet Marketing, Making Money online, etc..

Now, I'll explain my current set up that's sending about 100K emails/day at a cost of $13 / month. If you want to send more than 100,000 emails per day, you will need to spend more money... Also, keep in mind that everything I mention below can be found on bestblackhatforum, except for the VPS and Autoresponders.

VPS ($13+/month)

Currenly, I'm using myhosting.com - CentOS Linux. With the coupon it's about $13 per month. You can add more RAM and Bandwidth as you start sending out more emails but you shouldn't need to spend over $20 - $30 per month. If you're not good with Linux, then you can get a Windows VPS and that's about double the price as a CentOS VPS

Bulk Mailing Software (Free)

Keep in mind that I'm only sending out text emails, not HTML emails. Currently, I'm getting the best results using Swiftmailer (opensource) and Interspire - Email Marketer.

Link Tracking (Free - $6/Month)

You can track links in Interspire but who wants to click on a link that look like this?

=> http://YourWebsite.com/iem/link.php?M=1&N=2&L=1&F=T

The Interspire link tracker is good if you cloak the link (which you'll learn in a second) but I'm also using LinkTrack. I use two to make sure that they are accurately tracking the links. If one says 10 links clicked and one says 8 links clicked, then we would have a problem...

Redirect / Link Cloaking (Free)

I cloak and redirect all link tracking links and affiliate links using Easy Redirect.

For example your tracking link may look like this: http://linktrack.info/.9haq

With easy redirect it looks like this: http://YourWebsite/Link

Autoresponder (Free - $15+/Month)

Interspire has a pretty good Autoresponder but from some reason all the pros use Aweber and Getresponse. I've tried both I decided to stick with Getresponse. Not much difference between the two other than the price...

Conclusion

Email Marketing is not Rocket Science. This took me 2 days to set up and now everything is on Autopilot. Sending about 100K+ emails/day. However, configuring your autoresponder to send out quality follow up emails and newsletter is a bit tougher... So, if you can afford $13 / month you can start sending out Milllions of emails a month and get A LOT of traffic to your products / affiliate products and make some serious $$$.

How much $$$ do you make / day?

interesting that you can just upload the list into getresponse and not get banned when the list hasn't opted into your email account to receive the emails. I belieave this would get you banned soon if im wrong i would love to know how you are succeeding with this drop me a pm about it all if you are having some success. As i tried this witha mass mailer and added a list into aweber also one day and they shut down my account simply because i uploaded a list that wasn't notified of the emails to be sent !

No... The emails that I send out include a link to my squeeze page. The person opts-in to get a free ebook and then is directed to my one-time-offer. Then they receive my free ebook from the Getresponse follow up and my AMAZING newsletters every 3 days with a ton of awesome new products!

Most of the lists I've been getting come from websites that send out newsletters, so you don't need to clean them.

For example, here's a 15K double-opt in list from Readers Digest.

There are plenty of these out there online if you know where to look...

However, I do also use eMail Verifier to check links if I download the list online.

It takes about 24 hours to check 100K emails and is very accurate.

It's all about getting people to open your email, click on the link to your website and opt-in to your list. This depends on a ton of variables, such as subject line, email list, your niche, etc. The more general your niche is ( i.e. self help, health, making money) the better your open rate will be. The better your squeeze page is, the more opt-ins you'll get. And if you're eBooks and follow up emails / newsletters are good quality, then you'll get people to click on your affiliate links to products that you recommend.


List building using Email Marketing is certainly not the best way to build your list... I can get 50 opt-ins with a $40 solo ad from Safe Swaps. However, since I'm new to Internet Marketing I'm testing the performance of my emails / squeeze pages using Email Marketing. Once I see some nice conversions I'll be spending a lot more on solo ads.
