curious because i researched that before i bought it and came to the conclusion it was just 1 - not 2

You can use the UD on 2 pc but not at the same time, you must run either one of them, not the 2 ( one for the home pc and the other for when you are traveling)
i find that hard to believe - if it has a callback - then it will be for 2 machines
which means you can use both at the same time - otherwise its just for 1 machine.
the callback would be for both machines (at the same time) if it was for 2 machines.
