is still hanging in there. Although it's a public tracker, it has surprisingly few viruses that I have encountered (maybe it's because I mainly use it for TV shows and movies). They have a comment system that allows people to report dodgy submissions.

Most of the Demonoid uploaders have moved over to the piratebay, it just depend on what content you require though to what site you choose. If you are using it for movies then you may wan't to look into joining one of the private "Scene" groups such as torrentday.com for the use of their private trackers.

TPB has always been a reliable tracker for me. As for viruses/trojans, just don't download from un-skulled uploaders.
i use piratebay , heet and torrentcrazy .. You will almost find everything .. Will also have good seeds :)
