Meditations
Created for all experience levels, this meditation set features two 16-minute meditations: “Heart and Soul for the Brain" and “Radiant Heart, Radiant Brain.” Both guide you through a process of synchronizing your heart and brain … leading you back to balance, homeostasis, and health.
By placing your awareness and attention on your heart – coupled with deep, slow breathing and elevated emotions – the brain is influenced to move out of stress and into a more relaxed state. You move out of survival … and into creation.
Each meditation was recorded live with Dr Joe during our first 10-Day Advanced Retreat in Cancún, Mexico. Released by popular demand, both pair Dr Joe’s guidance with previously recorded music by one of our community’s most-loved composers, intuitive singer Mei-lan Maurits.
Meditation Description
Our research shows a powerful, measurable relationship between the heart and the brain. When you live in a state of stress and survival for an extended period of time, the body moves out of balance, and these centers become incoherent. When we are in survival, we can’t relax, we can’t think, we can’t learn, we can’t heal, we can’t change. The body’s systems become compromised, leading to a state of dis-ease.
Your heart, though, can serve as a bridge to lead you back to balance and to homeostasis and, ultimately, to health. When the heart center is activated by your attention, and energized by elevated emotions, it informs the brain to move out of the high-beta brainwave states of stress and survival and into a more relaxed, creative alpha brainwave state.
Through our research, we’ve developed a formula for practicing and sustaining heart and brain coherence. The more you can relax into your heart, the more the energy from the heart and the body can be released into the brain. And when these centers regain communication with each other, they create more order and regulation in the body.
These two short, 16-minute meditations – “Heart and Soul for the Brain" and “Radiant Heart, Radiant Brain” – were created by popular demand and pair Dr Joe’s guidance with previously recorded music by one of our community’s most-loved composers, intuitive singer Mei-lan Maurits.
Both follow a similar practice to guide you through that process of synchronizing your heart and brain … leading you back to balance, homeostasis, and health.
First, you’ll close your eyes and go within – disconnecting from your outer world. Then, you’ll focus your awareness on your heart and give it undivided attention. You’ll slow your breathing and broaden your focus, causing your brain waves to slow down while moving your body out of survival and into relaxation.
As your body relaxes and you continue breathing energy into the heart, you’ll practice feeling elevated, heart-centered emotions. The heart’s new rhythm – energized by emotions like joy, wholeness, and gratitude – will send information directly to the brain. The two will synchronize, and, as both centers become balanced, they will send a powerful signal to the rest of the body, helping it reset its emotional baseline and return to homeostasis.
Relaxed in the heart ... awake in the brain. Sustained heart-brain coherence begins to change your physiology so your body can restore, regenerate, and repair itself – leading to more creativity, health, and healing.
