MEGA-INFLUENCER MARKETING ISN'T FOR EVERYONE!

Not everyone has what it takes to become a successful content creator or social media influencer at the mega level.

It takes time to attract and retain a solid following. It takes patience and tenacity to keep going, when you may not feel up to it. It takes talent and effort to grow your brand.

The bigger you are and the larger your following, the more you're "always on," which can, over time, take its toll on other areas of your life.

You should be comfortable in front of the camera (if you do videos) and having a unique personality is a major plus.

It can involve long hours, along with the stress of having to come up with fresh ideas on a regular basis.

But thankfully, you don't have to be a MEGA influencer. You can still find success at a comfort level that suits you and requires less time.

Still, there are stories of creator/influencer frustration at not earning enough to justify all the effort. Or fatigue and burn-out from the demanding schedule.

Or worse --- being scammed by fake influencer managers offering to represent you.

Below are some caveats to consider if you're thinking of getting into the creator economy...

Despite the fact that the "Creator Economy" has turned ordinary people into megastars and multi-millionaires --- seemingly overnight in some cases --- the reality is that the vast majority of creator/influencers fall somewhere in the middle-to-lower ranks; either making a respectable income at best to hardly anything (or NOTHING) at all.

YOUR ODDS OF GETTING RICH AS A SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCER

Sadly, as few as 4% of creators achieve massive success (as in millions). Those are the ones we get to read about.

Roughly 30% earn a substantial income from their endeavors.

But let the record show, you don't have to be a "mega-influencer" to find success.

INFLUENCER LEVELS

With the right mix of consistent and valuable content, personality and presence, you can make anywhere from millions, enough to replace your day job to side-hustle money.

Influencer levels are based on the size of your following (fanbase):

- Mega Influencer: Over 1,000,000 followers (usually --- but not always --- celebrities, sports personalities, experts in their fields, etc.)
- Macro Influencer: 100,000 to 1,000,000 followers (larger creators)
- Micro Influencer: 10,000 to 100,000 followers (niche experts with high engagement)
- Nano Influencer: Under 10,000 followers (everyday users)

Whether you're a mega, macro, micro or nano influencer, there's a place for you in this crowded space. Marketers look to partner with creators/influencers whose content is relevant and of high-value that drives engagement to a strong fanbase.
