Thanks for making this offer Reverie.
(+Rep given, as always.)
I agree with the sentiment that "Piracy == Freedom", BUT...
Anyone using 'piracy' and/or 'hacking' to describe (supposed/alleged) cybercriminal activities is just plain WRONG.
Why, you may ask...
Real pirates were folks who murdered indiscriminately vs. sharing paid s/w for free actually harms nobody while truly and ultimately promoting that product.
'Hacking' is misused just as badly - because in that misuse it depends upon an imagined use of destructive force to gain (illegal) accesses, BUT=>
True IT hacking is what everyday coders and especially those who work with OSes actually do to earn their pay.
Of course these confusions are aimed at certifiably thought-free TV watchers who will also believe that the words 'safe' and 'government' can be used together without creating lies.
It is about time that folks should discern the differences between PHYSICAL harms and/or thefts vs. the free reuses of programs involving zero physical theft.
And...
Do I approve of payware being made available for free ?!?
ABSOLUTELY.
