What's the point to share something on such topic that was published on November 23, 2015. In last 9 years things are changed a lot and there is no point to share such backdated books.

@problogger99: I know your post isn't directed to me but, while I agree with you that some things have changed since 2015 with regard to getting book reviews, there is still value in a book like this that gives practical and basic guidelines.

Most people looking to get legitimate reviews of their books simply don't know where to start. A book like this gives them some structure - a place to start and a checklist of things to do along the way. I don't think this share should be judged solely by its copyright date.

While best practices evolve over time, people (i.e., human behavior) are much slower to change. That is why, for example, many of the top copywriting books from decades past are still coveted today --- those methods still work in 2024.

It's always a good idea to get updated information from current sources but there is still value in a book like this one.

For example, I just did a search for how to get book reviews 2024 and came across a lot of links to sites that give you current best practices, like these:

I totally agree with you. You shared some good sides. But also we should remember that by reading such content there are some possibilities to be misguided. An experienced author/publisher may understand those but what about newbies? There are so many things that were allowed back in 2015 that is not allowed now.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF SOMEONE CAN'T UNDERSTAND THOSE UPDATED RULES? WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF BECAUSE OF FOLLOWING SUCH BACKDATED BOOK ON AMAZON'S SYSTEM THAT CHANGES EVERY NOW AND THEN, A PURE AUTHOR GETS TERMINATION EMAIL FROM AMAZON?

I think you know what is happening at this moment with book publishers who are using services like Pubby. There are so many incidents when amazon terminated those authors who used pubby that has been very reputable service for last few years.

So I don't think sharing good positive sides is the BEST POSSIBLE WAY EVERYTIME. What suits you for being an experience player in the game may not suit a newcomer. We should focus what is the better solution that is safe and good for maximum number of people.

@problogger99: Thank you for your response. You make a valid point. Not everyone knows to stay abreast with current practices and newbies (especially those anxious for a quick cash flow), could end up losing all hope by following information from outdated methods.
