He got banned. Twice. And I'm 66.

As a favor to me, can you resist the urge to post barbs at people who aren't looking for a fight? It's not like BlackTopHat needs me to step up for him (clearly, he doesn't --- I have read the contentious posts between you two) but stuff like this can come to no good.

You're probably a good person. I have read a kind comment you left me for a share you benefitted from.

I'll tell you where this is coming from: I have my own troll to deal with and I know what that's like. This guy is just mean-spirited and negative and most of his posts are sarcastic, curt and ugly --- for no good reason.

BlackTopHat is a great contributor to BBHF. I, personally, have enjoyed his shares.

Both of you have been here for a good number of years. You both have lots of posts and a healthy reputation. That translates to being a value to the community.

So, why this...?!!!

Maybe (most likely) I'm older than you both and am not used to people sparring openly on a thread like this. It may all be done in jest but it can go sideways.

PS: And I agree with you. Nobody NEEDS reps. Just like nobody NEEDS to react when someone posts for help with a course they are looking for.

But they expect assistance. They HOPE for help to come along.

And what would BBHF be like, if nobody shared?

Reps are not money in the bank. They're a symbolic gesture. The forum's currency in "payment" (thanks) for the goods delivered.

But the purpose of my post is to call for peace.

Again, from experience, I am slowly learning to ignore the miserable individual who enjoys posting negative crap on my (and others') helpful threads. He shows up every now and again --- like a full moon phase. And it's not easy having to deal with people like that. You can't stop them. I used to react and on more than one occasion, I've come out-of-a-box on his ass.

But that's not who I am.

I don't know if this is who you are.

On advice of people here who care about me, I have been kindly asked to ignore him.

It's not easy but I'm trying.

So, now, as a member here, I ask you to do the same.

Playful joshing and verbal jostling can get out of hand when one person goes too far.

Both of you are better than this.

Thanks
for reading!
