ONE LITTLE SEARCH
...SO MUCH STUFF!!!

Volume 2 of the 3-volume Point Points
Collection by copywriter Dan Kennedy

I just downloaded Dan Kennedy's Power Points. It's a 3-volume digitial tome where DK shares his own "Power Points" (nothing to do with the Microsoft product of the same name BTW).

To give you an example of what Dan's Power Points are about, here is one I grabbed at random...

Power Point #289
Power of Tooting Your Own Horn

In the Psycho-Cybernetics/Zero Resistance Living Course,
Dr. Maxwell Maltz tells the story of the young man "who
couldn't blow his own horn." He's not alone. Many people
are conditioned that "bragging" is unseemly. But if you
don't shine the spotlight on yourself, who will? In most
businesses, the owner is the "face" of that business, and
he must sell himself as well as his products and services.

There's something to think about.

There's a lot of power in learning how to promote yourself and your brand without being braggadocious about it. Instead of looking like a pompous jerk, you want to come across as a trusted ally with your prospect's best interest at heart. But at the same time, you want to position YOUR BUSINESS (ex: brand, products, services) as the one MOST QUALIFIED to get the results or solution your customer/client needs.

So you should toot your own horn but let your message's focus be more on what you can do for the prospect.

But that's not why I'm here.

This share is to show you how simple and easy it is to find valuable downloads with one little search --- when you get the keywords right.

If you're looking for ideas for any of the following:
- bullets for writing sales
- email subject lines to entice readers
- list building help
- offers that make your prospect's mouth water for whatever you're selling
- promoting your brand
- turning any product's features into benefits your customers want and need
- ...or anything else related to selling more of your ideas or products!

Do this...

STEP 1: Go to Google.

STEP 2: Type these keywords in the search field and hit the looking glass icon to start the search.

Or this one...

STEP 3: Browse to your heart's content and grab all the little PDFs you can stuff inside your hard drive. It will take a while because you will be going 3-pages deep in Google's results for the most part.

And if you're inquisitive (or creative) you can substitute some of the keywords in different niches and come up with even bigger treasures!

I got a lot more copywriting PDFs with this search:

Simple little searches like any of these can bring you untold numbers of valuable downloads.

So spend some time playing around with different niches and keywords.

Getting back to Dan Kennedy's Power Points, there is real power in simplicity. Back in 1960, the U.S. Navy adopted a design model called K.I.S.S. --- an acryonym that stands for "Keep It Simple, Soldier."

Over time, that acronymn was used by the general public and the meaning changed to: "Keep It Simple, Stupid" and that meaning stuck.

What K.I.S.S. says is that "most systems work best if they are kept simple" rather than made complicated.

And to that point, I can't stress enough how important it is to keep your searches simple for best results.

KEEP IT SIMPLE, SEARCHERS!

Start by casting a wide net. Use category names as keywords (ex: copywriting) instead of beginning your search with specific course titles or marketers names. This improves the odds that you will find what you're looking for (IF it's there) and even more. So chances are you will find a reasonably acceptable substitute, even if the thing you're looking for is not available.

The fewer total words in your search query, the better. Don't type your search as a question. That's too many words. Remember K.I.S.S. --- just the facts.

Organize your keywords by importance.

Use keywords wisely. If you cannot use premium links like [Reported by Members as premium hosting that SUCK! Use MEDIAFIRE or MEGA.NZ :) !!!], for example, add file share sites you can use as a keyword. For example, add mega.nz or mediafire.com or zippyshare.com. There's no guarantee you will get what you want on those file hosts but it could happen.

Go with the flow. Searching has this way of morphing from where you originally started to entirely new and exciting adventures. Don't fight it. Let it take you away because, usually, unless you find yourself completely off-track, you will come up with a lot more golden nuggets than you started out expecting to mine.

If at first you don't succeed, try... try again. There is no right or wrong when you are searching for files. So if what you are doing does not work, don't give up. Give it a little more thought and try something else.

Let Google do the heavy lifting --- you get to reap the rewards. Feed the engines the right keywords and usually, magic happens.

Remember to keep it simple and that your adventure begins with one little search.

BUT WAIT...!!! THERE'S MORE!

As a parting gift, I'd like to share this Dan Kennedy audiobook, a anthology of his No B.S. philosophy.

Wow! Powerful stuff. Thank you very much. +25 Reps.
Quote:STEP 2: Type these keywords in the search field and hit the looking glass icon to start the search.

Layna61524, once again, another awesome instructional share; however when I get to stage two, I drew a blank as, sadly, the .png images are not visible, so I'm not sure what to type in after that... There does not seem to be an URL attached to the images.
Amazing share Layna61524, I'm curious to read about the slide...thanks for bringing it to the table.

Reps added!

Thanks
@lynch: You're welcome, friend. Thank you for the kind words... and all those reps!

@imjuanita: Thank you for the kind words and your reps, friend. I'm not sure I understand what you're referring to as "the slide" but... okay. Enjoy the share.

@GalaxyQuest2: If you'd like guidance, please send me a PM with what you're searching for. My instructions in this post do not include looking for image files, so clearly, you are searching for something altogether different. No matter, though, you should be able to use these steps to find other file formats to download but without knowing what your keywords are, I don't know how to help. You can post your search query or send it to me in a PM.

Thanks

Sorry, Layna61524 I did not explain myself properly, what I was saying or what I meant to say was that I followed step one

Or this one...

As both images failed to show, I was unsure what the keywords were. I hope that explains what I was trying to get accross
@GalaxyQuest2 and Others:My apologies that my images aren't showing up in this post but there was a problem with my IceCream Screen Recorder links. But there's an easy way you can see them that doesn't require me to re-do all of the work...(or you having to change browsers):

RIGHT-CLICK THE LINK AND SELECT
"OPEN IMAGE (OR VIEW) IN A NEW TAB" --- THEN FOLLOW
THE TAB TO SEE THE IMAGE THAT'S MISSING

Thank goodness I have since gotten them to show by using Postimages.org, which saves images in the cloud and my newer posts have the images the way they should display.

The link below, for example...

When you RIGHT-CLICK and select: Open Image in a New Tab (and you go over to the newly opened tab) you will see this:

I then right-clicked on the first link in the 3rd column on GrayHatWarfare and opened the file in a new browser tab to get this image (very attractive infographic!):

So please continue to right-click the broken links below and open them in a new tab to see them.

So, continuing with the instructions...

Next, I want to use the image's link to grab the main bucket URL and paste that into either the Internet Geek's S3 ripper tool or simplified's ripper tool (now that it's back up and running since last night).

I know you said the image files you tried in your search did not seem to have a URL associated with them --- well, they do. You need to put the URL in the 2nd column on GrayHatWarfare with the file type section in column 3 to get the full link URL.

Here are the two extra steps I take to get the full URL and then pare down the link to remove the file name, as I mentioned in the tutorial, so that only the full bucket name link is in the site ripper tool.

STEP 1: Go to the GrayHatWarfare site (if you haven't already) and in the search field, type: copywriting infographic png - then click the blue SEARCH button.

STEP 2: You should see the same 6 files I posted the image of above. Using the very first file (the one I posted the image of above) hover your mouse over the blue link in the 3rd column (Filename) and right-click it and select Copy Link. You may not see the full link in the Filename column but you can see it in the lower left corner of your browser screen (task bar area) and by copying that link, you have captured the entire link - the bucket's URL and the file name of the download.

STEP 3: Go to a good site ripper tool. You have the option of using either simplified's tool here (which I recommend; more on why in a moment):

THE BEST DUAL SITE RIPPER TOOL YOU'LL EVER NEED!
Magic Button :
Code:
.
https://simplified.likesyou.org
.

Or you can use the Internet Geek's site ripper tool for Amazon S3 here:

INTERNET GEEK'S ONLINE AMAZON S3 BUCKETS RIPPER APP: This is a neat little online app that works fairly well but it can give you errors when the files are actually available. I'm not sure if IDM just refuses to play nicely with it but I'll show you an example of what I mean further below in this post.
Magic Button :
Code:
.
https://www.internetgeeks.org/tools/s3ripper/index.php
.

I suggest everyone to BOOKMARK both of these sites and give them plenty of exercise by using them often. That's one good way to feed your external hard drives with plenty of great downloads.

Okay, so anyone unfamiliar with using simplified's dual Wordpress/Amazon S3 ripper tool you will need to click either the green button (for WP sites like sales pages, for example) or the gray button (for Amazon S3 buckets like the links we're using in this tutorial).

Now, there is a difference between these 2 tools so read carefully:

IF YOU ARE USING SIMPLIFIED'S SITE RIPPER - AMAZON S3 BUCKET TOOL

- You need to put the actual bucket name into the search field. That's all you need. Do not use a URL (website address that begins with http(s):// and ends with .com). So in this example, all you need to type in the search field is: wordstream-files-develop because that is the bucket name; the section that comes before the s3.amazonaws.com main URL.

Type that in the text field and hit the green SEARCH NOW button. Wait a few minutes for the links to populate in the browser. You're now ready to browse and download what you want.

If no links come up, that means the bucket is protected. Or the files have been moved or removed.

IF YOU ARE USING THE INTERNET GEEK'S SITE RIPPER TOOL FOR AMAZON S3 BUCKETS

You will need to supply an actual bucket URL. So after pasting the entire link you copied from GrayHatWarfare, click behind the .png file format extension in the link, use your backspace or delete button to backtrack, which will get rid of each letter until you end up with only the core URL. Just make sure you stop at the .com link extension but also be sure that the https://wordstream-files-develop or https://wordstream-files-prod are part of the link. Now you are ready to hit the Submit Query button. Wait for any links to show up on the browser screen.

If no links come up after a brief wait, that means the bucket is protected. Or the files have been moved or removed.

Once you are on the Amazon S3 search page, right-click and paste the entire Amazon S3 link you just copied from GrayHatWarfare. Don't click the Submit Query button just yet --- there is one more important step you need to take.

So here is what I got when I put the link from The Best Copywriting Tips Ever infographic into each ripper tool after deleting the file name (subdirectory) and putting it into the Internet Geek's S3 tool:

Then, I used another link on that page that went to a different bucket name: wordstream-files-develop:

Here is Internet Download Manager opened, with the links parsed from Internet Geek's site:

But as you can see, it looks like IDM could not detect if the files were on the server. The File Type column is left bare. So all I can do is try to download the 6 20 Minute Dashboard files using IDM to see what happens.

After waiting a long time, here is proof that IDM couldn't download the files from Internet Geek's app:

I next tested the edited (pared down) link in simplified's tool: This is the result of using the bucket name: wordstream-files-develop:

This is the result of using the bucket name: wordstream-files-prod:

So, that's how you can download image files.

Lastly, I wanted to tell you why I prefer simplified's site ripper tool over Internet Geek's app.

I use Internet Download Manager (IDM) almost exclusively and when the files are parsed into that program, I can see the links but IDM didn't show me if the files were available (ex: error, not found or the file extension, as it usually does in the File Type column.

After I tested them in IDM, using the links in simplified's ripper tool, this is the result:

Internet Geek's app sometimes give you error messages and no downloads whereas that did not happen with simplified's site ripper. I can't explain it but you need to be aware of this. If Internet Geeks tool turns you away, don't take no for an answer. Try the files again using the best little site ripper ever created!

The file formats were detected and when I started test-downloading a few of the image files, it worked! Below is a screen-shot of the 20 Minute Dashboard PNGs downloaded to my desktop:

Another reason I 61heart simplified's site ripper because the Amazon S3 section does not require you to use a full link --- just the bucket name. That's easier to deal with because just one little mistake in the URL could be the difference in getting a download or not.

But moreso than anything, that little site ripper works. I know that recently, that app was offline and there was a scary message that it was banned but I tried it just last night (and again today to do this tutorial) and it's back up and running strong.

So, I hope this long-winded tutorial did not confuse you any further. My intention was to help. So, my offer still stands. If after reading this, you are still unable to download whatever you were searching for, send me a PM and I will see what I can do.

And lastly, for anyone needing to get to the GrayHatWarfare site to search for Amazon S3 buckets, go here --- and BOOKMARK that site, too!:

THE CLIFF'S NOTES ON GRABBING THE FULL BUCKET NAME URL

If the tutorial above is waaay too much information, just do this:

Right-click on an image link and copy it. That automatically gives you the full URL of the link. Paste that into the Internet Geek's tool and then take off the last part showing the file name. Your URL will usually end in .com but there is an exception.

I once found a bucket name link where the bucket name did not appear before the s3.amazonaws.com link but afterwards, in the subdirectory. In that case, you would need to paste in a link that looks like this:

At the moment, I can't look for an example for this kind of link but you can do a Google search like this to find lots of them:

The asterisk or star symbol (*) in my search above is a placeholder for whatever the subdirectory of a link is. That way, we don't need to know the actual words or symbols but the keyword "copywriting" narrows the search for buckets on that niche category.

You can substitute the keyword "copywriting" with another niche you are actually interested in and see what comes up.

Then try my suggestion for using the link URL as described elsewhere in this post. Be sure to remember to delete everything that comes after the amazonaws.com part of the link or the Internet Geek's site ripper will not work.

If it helps, just remember that your link should NOT end in a file format such as pdf, mp4, mp3.

Give that a try and see if the site ripper tools can find you more links. If I had more time today, I would test a link myself to demonstrate it but this post is already lengthy enough and has seemingly taken on a life of its own.

If anyone has problems, post with details or send me a PM if you need help with a search. I'm no expert but I am willing to help.

Thanks
for reading!

@GalaxyQuest2: Okay. I see your post and even though I'm still unsure, it looks like instead of my images showing up in my post, you got those ugly broken text links instead.

Can you try viewing this thread using Firefox? I use IceCream Screen Recorder Pro to post image files and Firefox is the only browser that shows the images correctly. So yours is a browser issue. The images are showing but you cannot see them.

I was wondering why you mentioned pngs when my searches had nothing to do with an image or picture.

In the meantime, here are the keywords I used:

copywriting pdf site:amazonaws.com

direct marketing bullet swipes pdf site:amazonaws.com

Dan Kennedy Power Points pdf

Now you can try again.

Thanks
