ALL members here really, seriously NEED to have a grasp of this info vs. finding out about it AFTER having some sort of a costly disaster strike them down.

Looks like there are quite a few members of all sorts who consider NULLED stuff as being the same as cracked/regged w*r*z.
Wrong.
NULLED stuff is ONLY used on your hosting as some part of your web site.
This can be a PHP script, a theme, a plugin or other sort of app that ONLY runs from a web server.
W*r*z is a broad category of programs and stuff that runs on some form of local computer - including smartphones, of course - and is NOT usually server centered.
Malware can be present in any/all of the above - whereas NULLING is a whole different animal.
At its best, the action of nulling is JUST the removal of restrictions which then allows 'free' stuff to function as being fully regged=>
AND NOTHING ELSE !!!
Sadly that is not usually the case.
NULLED stuff tends to be made by talented coders who have their own personal gains in mind...so:
The most common things added to lots of NULLED stuff are backdoors which give said coder anything from unrestricted access to silent data theft abilities.
Example:
You put a ton of work into making a superb membership site and it got built upon a very good looking NULLED theme.
After a short while you start getting messages from your paying subscribers telling you that they are getting spam referring to your site.
(Then they just quit, leading to lowering income for you.)
And of course that is only IF you are fortunate enough that folks bother to tell you rather than just quitting !!
Moving on now to Keygens...
These can be the most wonderful things !!
When they are clean and work well, they allow you to gain reg info for whatever they were made to get regged, which can include server based stuff.
My favourite example is the WinRAR KG - which has allowed me and loads of other folks to have fully regged WinRAR on as many PCs as desired.

A final word about malware in general:
There are endless variations of malwares ranging from simple annoyances all the way up to horrid ransomware and minute by minute new and often even worse malware is being made by the cybercrime oriented folks.
It is NOT possible for ANY antivirus or antimalware app to keep up with the new arrivals fast enough for there to be total protection of your stuff.
VT or Jotti are no different in that respect and just use apps that must be kept updated.
They also CAN NOT detect most damaging NULLED stuff at all.
Ultimately then - considering all the above - for your PC and OS and personal data the very best protection is some form of local backing up;
For this I prefer to make total drive images using tools like Macrium Reflect, Redo Rescue or Easeus Todo Backup onto separate media.
Hosted stuff is a whole different story - and for that local backups are also best and should be made regularly.
There are many tools for the different variations of this.
Lastly...
THE VERY BEST protection is just using your brain !!!
It is the very best tool to avoid ransomwares, phishing attempts and to prevent you from getting malwares from infected sites.
Therefore it is HIGHLY suggested to make good uses of this tool which you already have !!!
