i will say this though....if someone can't create a blog and make money from it, they probably wont have too much success with anything else online. that's how i got started and that's how i have ALWAYS supported how others need to start. they need to start simple and with the basics and with a good foundation and grow from there.
I agree with California Kid (on so many levels...). It is almost impossible to fail if you start with a "blog model".
Build a blog. You can even use Blogger (for free). The "KEY" is the niche. Write on "pain points" that a subset of people (who have sufficient discretionary funds) ABSOLUTELY want; who have "something to lose" if they don't get a solution.
Build a list from the followers of your blog. Give special quality content daily in your email.
Offer "solutions" to the list that they can't get anywhere else. Which is easy, because this is "your list" and they are "your tribe".
As I've mentioned numerous times before, read "Tribes" by Seth Godin. [available here on BBHF, and elsewhere]
Sure, its a little work. But, I ABSOLUTELY know I could start a completely new blog today (on Blogger, Substack, or Wix, etc.), spend no more than 2 hours a day creating content and uploading with free promotion by YouTube; and by 6 - 9 months be cranking out ~$4-5K/month. In a year: $10K-20K/month.
But that is me, "KNOWING" that this will work. I have zero doubts that California Kid could do the same. Because he knows the power of the blog model. (It's actually the "Tribe" model.)
Wish you all the best.
