These are links (from me), I dont know if VT is working with Links.

I cannot confirm if VT will correctly scan direct file links, BUT:
With downloaded PDF files - I did have just one in forever come up dirty via ESET, and that was because it had some PHP code inside it.

Besides that ONE, I did have my local AV point out some malware type links inside PDFs a couple of times.

So totally it has been maybe less then 1/2 dozen problems out of thousands of PDFs and since I carefully check for any code or links and NEVER trust or click stuff like that, this does not worry me very much.

Just in case someone wants to try these methods, be informed that they are very old - 2014 - 2016. DO your due diligence because things keep changing in the IM world.
