Save your time. The tutorial is good, but if you want you can find the information needed through search engine as well.
Problem is that the most "free" vps suppliers don't allow usage for crypto mining. I tried this with the tutorial at DigitalOcean (had to pay $5 for initial $100 free VPS time). After I installed like in the tut two days later they wrote me, that it is unusual behaviour and after I tried to explain they closed my account. So if you don't have reliable VPS for free you can nearly forget this. Even if you pay it won't feed you. The cost's are higher than you would expect. So at the end you will pay up on this. There are crypto calculators online where you can calculate the profits even you host the mining script at your own "server". With a good hardware and cheap energy source this could be a solution.
If you need search for "monero and/or sugar mining with raspberry pi" so you get the basics for installing this (ubuntu linux would be best basis for this).
Hopefully this helps some folks in here
