As the original poster of this thread, I have absolutely no idea why Post #5 (jimmyltc) refers to "post to unlock".

I have never used this feature when setting up this new thread or any of my previous ones, and tend to agree with Post #6 (Walt The Heavyweight) that this practice is silly.

My simple belief is that you either voluntarily share or don't bother. By putting additional requirements for just looking at a thread, defeats the object. The fact that this practice is being used more often on the forum, is somewhat concerning, and one is tempted to question the ulterior motive behind it.

Naturally, there will be some people that agree with this practice for whatever reason.

I, unfortunately, don't.
