Very true. I was just playing with it and came to conclusion that a simple wordpress site with two plugins and iframe code can be better than it.
Thanks - interestng post and reps given (also to @seoSolo) - could you share how you would improve on this using Wordpress and plugins?
EDIT: In case anyone wantsto try this, I threw something together in WP with the Content Mask free plugin and with a bit of fiddling around got it working nicely. And you can cloak the seed page URL this way.

Snatchit has two basic functions: [1] Content masking and [2] Adding a POP window with third party content.
Content Mask has many limitations - it doesn't allow own site's Header and footer.
a simple iframe code is enough to mask third party content. There's no need of any plugin.
The two plugins I mentioned are - [1] Redirection - for those contents which don't allow iframe embed and [2] A plugin to add individual POP-up window to individual Blog page or blog post.
This is a very good way to promote own product or service or message through third party content, I have been successfully using this since long and I call it as Zero Content WordPress blog.
I expected snatchit to be better than my ZCWP blog, but in reality it isn't.

Thanks again for your comments - you've obviously got this down to a fine art! I played around with iframes but could get the page to look how I wanted - my lack of knowledge - so used the Content Mask plugin and was able to inject code into the header and at the bottom of the <body>. I more or less replicated what Snatchit provides with an image and button bottom left, and by adding a featured image (which doesn't render because of the Content Mask function), gave Facebook something to display when the link was posted. BUT: the big issue which I haven't found a way around is that Facebook thinks the post goes against community guidelines and it's blocked. So FB's spam filter has triggered and I don't know why, when it seems happy to display Snatchit posts. Any thoughts?

@Bobhenry thank you for your comments.
There's no way to win Facebook directly with this type of page.
The solution is anyimage.io card.
Create a card and post that card - you'll be done. Creating card is very easy and it's free, unless you want its analytics.
Hope that this will solve your problem.
