This involves clickfunnels. That's where everybody pays a high monthly fee to clickfunnels to host their websites and people that got them involved collect a commission by the month. There are now about a dozen alternatives to clickfunnels that are a one-time fee and soon clickfunnels will be out of business.

Does that mean the stuff will not work with other similar funnel builder software out there?

Definitely not "soon". They might have to change up their business model, but there have been low cost and one-time purchase options to clickfunnels for years. They keep going strong.
