What kind of on-page format I need to follow in order to rank for my on-page content whereas I have a good qualitative backlink.

For new blog, always target low competition, long tail keywords. Don't be afraid to target "10 searches per month" keywords even 0 search per month. It has been proven multiple times by many bloggers that it will help your site to rank without competing with big dogs in your space slowly, bit by bit. Franklin Hatchett and Income School guys do that. Works well for them and a bunch of others.

I think using LSI is potential, But you can use quality content.
