There's loads of great benefits to having an EDU account - for many folks the free time of amazon prime followed by 1/2 price is enough by itself.
Have a look at the benefits lists at the various sites below - and likely there are other benefits not even mentioned that are easily found...
Here is why I'm posting about this:
When I wanted to get that benefit (and I'm not in college !!) I bought an account - set it up as needed and watched it for about a week;
It got nuked, so that time and $ was a waste.
Got another from a better seller, and it has lasted for around a year now, BUT:
What happens if this one gets some sort of 'audited' and nuked as well ??
Sure, they are sold at various places - but it seems to me that it is better to be able to handle stuff like this yourself, so I've had a look around for what seems like the best, most recent info about it.
Small warnings:

I haven't (yet) tested any of these so YMMV !!

It is a known fact that accounts can be made at Maricopa and CCC locations in CA, USA - but these are usually refused as being fraudulent by many of the sites offering EDU benefits.
