If you're like me, you love finding new stuff to download to feed your thirst for knowledge (and your hungry hard drives!) but not just any old stuff will do ... you want the really good stuff!
Earlier today, I set out to discover an easier way to find download sites I wasn't aware of to add to my arsenal. I did a quick search in Google like this:
"sites similar to: ________"
You can type any site you already use and like in the blank space. After some minutes looking through the results, I found a site called "Big List of Websites." This is like a directory that will help you to find sites similar to (whatever you like).
I put a screen-shot in the header of this post so you can see what I'm talking about.
Along the top of the site, you can click an alphabet to find websites by name if you know what you're looking for.
I found it easier to type in the search field. Just to get warmed up, I typed in "pirated IM courses" because I am looking for sites where I can find those mega-gig sized internet marketing products hawked by the gurus that most people here seem to be asking for in REQ threads. I got a huge list of sites as a result.
Now, when you get YOUR list, you can visit each site's link in another window but you will be going there through the directory's link. If you like, you can type the name of each site in manually in another window to avoid getting there through the Big List of Websites link.
The information at the top of each column can help you to decide which sites you explore. Check out the description and keywords columns for that. This site puts your keywords in red so you can visit sites that are more in line with your search request.
THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY ...
YOU'RE SURE TO FIND SOMETHING
I found sites that had a lot of IM courses (although some looked quite dated). What bothered me was that a lot of the sites require a payment to join. That's okay if the content is premium enough and the cost is reasonable ... but for now, I'm looking for FREE downloads. I say this so that you can add the word "free" to your search if that helps.
PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER
Just be smart and keep your anti-virus program updated and running in the background as you browse. And always run a scan on anything you download.
HAVE FUN!
If you're stumped as to what to type in the search field, here's a clue: Did you notice that I used the keywords: "pirated IM courses' ... so you are not limited to websites. You can use niches, categories and topics. I haven't tried it yet but you could probably use people's names. Try using a famous copywriter or one of the IM gurus like Jimmy Brown, for example.
So, that's it ... I am just pointing you to a huge directory that will find websites similar to ones you already use and like. You can use this for finding more free download sites, as well.
So, give this site a try and see what happens ...
