What is it like to learn that your ordinary, loving father is a serial killer?

In 2005, Kerri Rawson heard a knock on the door of her apartment. When she opened it, an FBI agent informed her that her father had been arrested for murdering ten people, including two children. It was then that she learned her father was the notorious serial killer known as BTK, a name he’d given himself that described the horrific way he committed his crimes: bind, torture, kill. As news of his capture spread, Wichita celebrated the end of a thirty-one-year nightmare.

For Kerri Rawson, another was just beginning. She was plunged into a black hole of horror and disbelief. The same man who had been a loving father, a devoted husband, church president, Boy Scout leader, and a public servant had been using their family as a cover for his heinous crimes since before she was born. Everything she had believed about her life had been a lie.

Written with candor and extraordinary courage, A Serial Killer’s Daughter is an unflinching exploration of life with one of America’s most infamous killers and an astonishing tale of personal and spiritual transformation. For all who suffer from unhealed wounds or the crippling effects of violence, betrayal, and anger, Kerri Rawson’s story offers the hope of reclaiming sanity in the midst of madness, rebuilding a life in the shadow of death, and learning to forgive the unforgivable.

Quote:Loved the book. It brought me peace.

As a Kansas who's been hearing about Dennis Rader or his deeds for forty years, this is an excellent story because of the different perspective that the author provides. Kerri Rawson shares her grieving and dealing processes so vividly, not only for those murdered and for their families, but for herself and her own shocked family as they themselves were victimized. Incredibly brave and realistic writing. Reading about what a loving and supporting family she grew up with makes her father's crimes all the more unbelievable and horrifying. So glad I read this. Odd but it left me with a soothing sense of closure, peace, and this refreshing lack of having any more curiosity about the whole story/saga/BTK thing. This book really puts a lot of thoughts to rest. All these years I've wondered about how Dennis Rader's family dealt with the aftermath of his crimes. Now I feel like I know. Thank you Kerri. I feel like I know you too, now. Very good book.

That's strange, I didn't have any problem whatsoever in getting Nancy857's share. I used the Solidfile PDF link with no issues. I am posting this so that others who read your comment won't be wary of downloading this share.

It's always best to contact the poster or ask if anyone else is getting suspicious activity when they go to download. One of several things could possibly have happened to make your Malwarebytes behave the way it did: (1) You may have clicked on a link that wasn't the actual download link but a fake teaser link that goes to adware or something that triggered MWB to react; (2) the file share server (Solidfiles) sent a pop-under or tried to re-direct your browser to another site with a suspicious file that your AV didn't trust; or (3) your computer may be compromised.

I have had my registry changed from downloading something and my computer began behaving strangely.

I suggest you run CCleaner, HitmanPro or ... even Malwarebytes on your main drive to see if anything is found.

People who make this forum great are those who actively share stuff and we don't need to go around "reporting" their shares before we take a moment to understand what could have actually happened.
