About the Author: Frederick Van Rensselaer Dey

Born in Watkins Glen, New York, February 10, 1861. Frederick was educated at the Havana (N. Y.) Academy, and later was graduated from the Law School of Columbia University.

Dey took up story writing for amusement while convalescing from a serious illness, and later made it his life work.

The Magic Story

An immediate worldwide sensation was created after Frederick van Rensselaer Day's "The Magic Story" first appeared in 1900 in the original Success Magazine. After thousands of requests for the reprint a tiny silver book was printed. Now you can read this powerful message in ebook form.

Two of Frederic' books, "The Magic Word" and "The Magic Story," written in 1899, were extremely popular.

Dey was discovered in his room in the Hotel Broztell, New York City, on April 25, 1922. Friends had heard him discussing the outline for a new book with a young woman in a cafe near the hotel. They universally remembered that he had a green notebook upon which was written the letters SOMAS. Dey said he was working on a more comprehensive book that would outline his understanding of New Thought with a particular focus on manifestation and spiritual practices. One recalled that Frederic had spoken enthusiastically about Orison Swett Marden, Thomson Hudson and another writer they had not heard of. Although no note every found, his death was declared a suicide. The green notebook was never found and the young woman was never seen again.
Thank you, neant. Looks interesting. Max reps added. :)
Thanks look forward to reading it.
Thank you very much for your kind words Nancy857 and Guest123.
Great pointer Neant - Thanks

Sadly, that PDF is a 68 page scan uploaded to G Docs rather than the original ~16 page text.
Very hard to read the scanned version for my ancient eyes, so - here is a textual version that is quite a bit easier on the eyes:

No PW, 14 sites to choose from.

Also, if curious, many docs of, ummm, 'interesting' sorts here:

Enjoy.
@neant - Thank You For This Share.

While I had read many, many books on PMA, this is a new one to me. I was curious to see what it was all about and too my surprise, it truly does have some great lessons inside.

While those of you that have been reading and studying Self Improvement books for a while will recognize the ideas, this is a short reminder that simple things are always the best for leading a successful life.

Ancient lessons learned so long ago and still just as important today.

I for one am happy to have read this and now have it in my collection!

Cheers,

G.S.

Thank you so much for this gem!

smithnowt, Thank you for sharing the text version. I also have ancient eyes!! Your efforts are very much appreciated. Repped.
Thanks
@Smithnowt thank you very much for the text version, my eyes will now survive this study and my kindle can handle the file. Thank you also for the very interesting doc list you shared.

@GordonShumway , you are absolutely right, there is something of a gem with the way a book so short is so well packed with wisdom, we might be in the presence of a short story masterpiece, even the way the attention of the reader is captured and guided is very ingenious.

It would be great if one of us could find the other book of the author of similar tone, "The Magic Word" not the mysterious one that disappeared from his deathbed - if that one does exist it must be no short of incredible...

Thanks to everyone for your kind words, reps and dedication.
