BLIND LEADING THE BLIND ON SECURITY ...
GETSECUREDASH = SUPERBULLSHIT
Some products I can deal with or tolerate in IM like the mystery proof-less money making offers or even push button traffic... as there is always a market that believes the pipe dream...
Where my blood boils is where clueless idiots create dogshit applications for a critical business service claiming to be experts and then pack their sales pages full of lies to try and pull the wool over uninformed customers and affiliates
Taking money off people by passing yourself off as an expert in a field without being one... is no different than being a cowboy builder or robing grannies
Today I'm talking about getsecuredash.net - the sales page with claims wilder than the abominable snowman...
First....let's examine the claims...
"Provides GOVERNMENT Level Security" - says who? - the tooth fairy? I can't see any government consulting this lot any time soon.
"foreign ping prevention" - obviously it's not working right now as they are not using it on their own site - as you can see by my screener
"blocks my SQL injections" - covered by 99% of free security plugins
"stops brute force" - this is covered by 99% of free security plugins
"crawlbot" - secures your site from crawlers - which? bad ones good ones/ bad ones any? using what list and algorithm?
"AutoFileMod" - find risky file permissions - covered by 99% of free security plugins - it's fixing 1990 problems on WP 2.0
"Protects you against Botnets" - of what size? even Cloudflare with their millions spent on specialist hardware offer a limited amount of protection against a DDOS - but somehow these guys have hit the jackpot with their fairy dust - later on they say it's DDOS monitoring - which? make your mind up -
Traffic monitoring is usually done free on any server with server apps lile WHM which dont need any scripts that connect to third party sites + traffic blocking is also done automatically free by plugins like Wordfence - so what are they fixing here - proper traffic blocking should be done at the host/ data center level -
"watering hole Attacks" are exploits - this is covered by good security plugins including Wordfence - they haven't invented the wheel here
Apparently, it also protects the following sites
"WordPress, Clickfunnels, Instabuilder, Shopify, XFunnels, CMS, HTML, PHP etc)"
Let's go into that...
Wordpress - right now you have a moderate level of protection with a good host that sits under DDOS mitigating hardware, a firewall, + a free security plugin such as Wordfence which offers a WAF firewall that protects you against common attack vectors and autoblocks junk
- as long as you DONT install shit plugins and themes built by dopey ass wannabee programmers - you'll be just fine
HTML? - there is no database here of and no attack points for hackers to play with - Why would a hacker want to attack an HTML Site and How?- morons
Instabuilder is a WP plugin - what are going to protect here? bad coding? - as far as I know this product has never appeared on any vulnerability database - good luck
Shopify Sites? it's fascinating that your script now protects a long standing, secure and very well backed up SAAS - I'm sure Shopify owners will be delighted to hear it
XFunnels? you mean the SAAS platform that was wide open from day 1 - how are they going to install the script there - perhaps ask Mr Dutta for permission?
Clickfunnels - they obviously have massive security issues - Russel will be delighted to hear you have a solution to all hos problems
“Fort Knox” For My Website! - fort bollox for your ass
"I Got 3 Of My IT Security Friends Into a Skype Group and We Agreed To Launch The #1 Best Software Monitoring System On The Planet! - really? Which 3 experts? - the 3 on the sales page?
What it should read is "3 useless pricks that know F*** all about security got together to create a bullshit security product that offers NOTHING new security wise
My concern is
Whenever you install a script on a site that talks to another site you will slow your site down - especially as that script need contact that server constantly and transmit data to the 3rd party site for EVERY single visitor massively increasing your processor load
The objective of a good security product is NOT to slow your site down, whilst providing a better cover than what is otherwise available free... anything else is shit
My advice to customers:don't even waste a cent of your money and remember these vendors names for at least providing us with some entertainment value on their sales material.
As for affiliates promoting this - to be fair its not easy work this out without good security foundations - we cant blame them
You want better site security?
1 Choose a host with a solid reputation for security, ddos mitigating hardware + a firewall +Use Cloudflare for accelerated page delivery and a reasonable level of DDOS protection
2. If you use WordPress or any other CMS platform you will need more security measures so be sure to get training on the best practice and only use trusted products not built by idiots
3. If you use third part SAAS platforms like Convertri, Click Funnels, Shopify, security it's not your problem it's the platform owners problem
As an IT consultant of some 15 years - having worked with teams that built multiple security tools + I would not install this on any of my sites - a better level of security can be gained with a good host + following a good security tutorial + using a plugin like Wordfence as this covers 99% of what you should be doing to your site WITHOUT adding more load onto your processor and slowing your site down
We did as we always do send a message to the vendor for answers - so far radio silence
This gets a -5 from us for the sales page lies alone and we grant the vendor our blue ribbon bullshit and miss-selling awards - Thank you for the entertainment
