Amazon accounts are nearly useless nowadays. Back in 2015, yeah, super sweet but now it's complete junk.

The reasons are:
#1 amazon is VERY proactive with user complaints. Any bitching and they will review the emails you send and when they see it wasn't double opt-in they will terminate your account. Believe me when I say people will bitch. When you send out 100k emails it only takes a handful of people to shut down your account. Not day 1, not day 1 but doubtful it lasts a month.

#1 Amazon doesn't inbox for shit anymore. They're no longer being whitelisted by other providers because of ridiculous amount of spam their clients send out. Now it's business as usual with the usual sending ip reputation and boy is amazon's horrible. Despite them giving out dedicated ip's as an option it is STILL hosted on amazons network and has amazon ip.

#3 Saturated market, great prices from other providers, literally anyone. Avoid the most popular ones as they were already hit with the massive spammer client issue and have pro-active measures to terminate your account. This translates to accounts on services like sparkpost being killed faster than some no-name mail provider. Then also check providers ip reputation. This is as easy as checking the ip of their website and checking it for blacklists and spamtraps. If their ip range is blacklisted their own ip website will show up in the blacklist, a good market telling you to stay away.

source: been mailing for years. Used amazon ses at the very beginning for when it still worked. Ran campaigns that sent out at least a million emails per month, usually on average more than that. Went through a lot of good times, a lot of bad times, a lot of complaints and terminated accounts and can vouch for what is said above. Hope this serves you well.

With love,
Goorda
