Etsy is a good alternative for Merch and has good organic traffic. No ridiculous tier system like Merch and comparatively less competition. Seems like a good course since Jay De Souza is quite knowledgeable and experienced with Etsy as seen from his group posts on FB. It's also the right time to get started with Etsy with the shopping season round the corner.

At the link given above, the first video in the course is a nearly 80-minute Tips For Success video and is free as a preview.
