Hi,

I am working on a WP site that will have lots of content and if I were to sell it someone could potentially clone it and sell this WP site to someone else just for the content.

Is there a way to protect a WP site so that it couldn't be cloned and installed on other domains?

I know that some themes have protection that the site will not work unless the domain is registered with the theme designer, but how can I have control over this?

Maybe someone has better ideas.

simple answer is no. what is it that you are trying to protect? the content? the theme? both?

you can always sell it with limited rights though as long as it's proprietary. and 100% unique. just have to create a contract and use a digital signature for an nda and/or limited rights contract. the problem is enforcing it though....especially if the person lives outside your country.

another alternative is just to give 100% rights to everything and increase the price if there is a demand.
