After moving to the United States from Taiwan, she earned a music scholarship to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to continue her study in piano. She then proceeded to earn her Masters of Music at the University of Tennessee and Doctorate of Music at Florida State University. She had the privilege of studying with top pianists and pedagogues such as Barbara Rowan, David Northington, and Read Gainsford.
As a pianist, Michelle Huang has performed widely as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative artist throughout the U.S as well as in the Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, and Taiwan. She has appeared as a guest artist in numerous recitals and has given lectures, workshops, and master classes throughout Florida as well as in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Taipei, Taiwan. As a teacher, she has served as adjunct faculty at Walters State Community College in Sevierville, Tennessee and at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. Currently, she is a full time faculty at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida.
