Udemy tried to trick me upon checkout... got $11.99 checkout price, not $0.00.
I looked down in the COUPON box and IT WAS NOT "couponsforever" but a series of numbers plugged in. I replaced those numbers with "COUPONSFOREVER", then got the $0.00 price. Whew!!! Udemy almost got me for $11.99!
Pay attention folks!

Sometimes this Happens to me too!
It seems that if u enroll several courses in nearly the same time, such strange things ( or even don't let u enroll successfully even the free coupon is still valid) will occur. I believe that it may be the preventive procedures being added in udemy recently.
For me, I need to wait for sometime before enrolling another courses...(say....perhaps at least a min) try after 1 min or more...several times...eventually u'll enroll successfully as usual.
And the most important is that u need to use such form as the web link to use your free coupon:
http://your_udemy_web_address/?couponCode=YourFreeCoupon
such as
https://www.udemy.com/love-stress-happiness-time-self-confidence-money-work-self-hypnosis/?couponCode=COUPONSFOREVER
I mean.........use this form ?couponCode=YourFreeCoupon as your input method, never input the free coupon by filling in the blank.
Yes, i noticed that Udemy made to wait for at least a minute, else error - you have exceeded maximum number of ....
but since last 2 days something got changed.
Now it takes a few seconds to have Add to cart button enabled, then go to cart, wait, then click get, wait for payment method to load, then finally Enroll.
All in all it now takes about 2 minutes to get a course enrolled.
So it's not only me that's facing this issue... I had the faced the "Add to cart" a few days ago, then it disappeared and again allowed direct enrollment in courses which were free with coupons. Now, it is back. Looks like a way to prevent excessive fee enrollments, but it is unlikely to stop determined students from enrolling!
In addition to the bait (free) and switch (goes paid when you try to enroll), I've also seen interchange between the Enroll and Add to Cart a few times over the past week or two.
Hope they don't remove free coupons in a bid to boost revenues as it would be counterproductive - allowing free coupons actually gets them paying customers who otherwise would not have purchased the course.
