That's because it's zippy.
Hover over the button and check the link (shown in status bar).
If it's zippyshare, then you'll be OK to click the button.
If it's a long URL usually starting with "p" then some numbers,

then there's a CSS overlay over the page, with the live spam links.

To get to the zippy link, right click on page and "inspect element" (in firefox, not sure of other browsers).
Delete the nodes starting with p (as above).
There's usually two.
Then you'll be able to click the zippyshare link without the spam...

Thank you. Yeah, Zippy does have a lot of spammy pop ups and I've had it freeze my browser occasionally. I like Zippy, though because it's easy to use for uploads and they recently added space which is good.

A very simple fix:
Just get AdBlockPlus and zippy gets down to ONE popup, max - which you just close the tab of reflexively before it is even fully open.

Optional step to make this even better:
Get IDM from one of the shares of it here - and let it grab the zippy files quickly and easily.

Side-note:
If using IDM and you want to keep the EPUB files from being changed to PDFs, just shut the IDM DL box and use the browser's DL function instead.
