AWESOME SHARE.
REPPED.
I have never seen and read so much heated discussion - pro and con - over one product.
Really, this is what makes this community so great. I both agree and disagree with some of the points raised.

But in the end, it comes down to the BBHF mantra: Sharing Is Caring to which I fully subscribe and try to support..

And +Reps of course for the share.
Great Share Great Help.. Thanks Happydance

However, there is something else taken that you do not mention. What is taken is the very reason that the enterprise was undertaken in the first place. What is taken is potential income in the future. piracy takes the very reason that someone endeavors to be in business. It takes futures sales away, by taking away potential customers who may have paid for the product. I am not above anyone else here, I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of those who think what they are doing here is more noble.

If this is how you want to rationalize this, then more power to you. What ever works for you. No judgement here. After all, I am here also. I just choose to not rationalize my reasons.

Thanks for the discussion.

Not to try and argue with your explanation, but here is another way to look at this:

If the person downloading/using a "pirated" software, would never have purchased the product, in the first place, yet is getting it for free, is he/she actually stealing it? Using this 'rationale', the vendor did not lose anything, so no crime has actually taken place. NOTE: Potential customers cannot be proven, it has as much value as a dream, and thus, unlike how socialism can rob someone of their dreams, cannot be stolen.(However, the claim of "I was going to buy this", provides proof of criminal intent.)

This leads one to rationalize that the free use of said product isn't always stealing, but sharing it to others who would have paid for it, creates a criminal conspiracy, by way of disregard for whether or not the end user would have otherwise paid for it.

So, when some users of their forum complain of leeching, are they complaining about the "leech" not contributing, or them not becoming a criminal, like them?

If someone expects a vendor to try and rip them off, either for time via lengthy high pressure sales "webinars", or for money, by providing less product/service than claimed, yet purchases anyhow, is he/she a victim, a co-conspiracist or a masochist in the making?

FACT: Not everyone thinks the same way, about things, and no one sees the full picture, of what is going on. Perception depends upon several things: knowledge, experience, psychology and the intelligence of the person perceiving. What your perceive, is decided by what you possess. :)

Claims of re-hashed garbage, nonsense, won't work, etc, probably shouldn't be used, as they deter others from learning from the content. Even if only a nugget, here and there, just like in school, repetition creates the cement that binds knowledge, in our brains. Each lesson learned, adds a bit more to our knowledge level, and so would that new nugget, so try not to prevent learning, from happening for others. (Or is the goal to prevent future competition?)
Too funny !!
A man who was for some time this world's richest - got there mostly by outright, open theft - was caught red-handed many times - always bought his way out of it - then usually bankrupted anyone trying to expose him.

People have actually worshipped that man and considered him to be brilliant.
So, putting this all together:
The actual father of 'piracy' has been held in such high esteem - and yet:
Here we are at The BEST Blackhat Forum, disputing the nebulous differences in how we see these same vaguely related actions on the part of us 'lesser people'.

Here's how I see it:

I've read essays describing how bank robbery actually benefits commerce as a whole no matter how it turns out; also essays that show how 'piracy' actually helps to sell more s/w, movies, music, whatever; and finally - how none of it matters as it is all measured via fiat currency which has no actual material value EXCEPT the numbers in the computers that track it all, so:
None of it really matters very much anyhow, does it ?!?

My questions all, always refer to effects upon the quality of someone's life;
If you are poor and struggling and find a way to get your hands on a non-material object, cost-free, without causing actual, physical harm to any other living being - AND:
Said object(s) do actually enable you to be less poor and have lesser struggles - hence a better life - then I say only=>
