Further, on older WP installs, you should re-ping/index site, particularly with Google for the "https" in addition to the re-direct of urls.

When sharing your site pages, links, use the "https" too.

I do have some HTML5 style sites so using the same service as here:

You can easily generate valid SSL certificates using the letsencrypt.org via:
https://zerossl.com

As a lot of other service providers @ letsencrypt.org require SHELL access and too complicated for my puny brain!


This is just simpler because its a WP Plugin and super easy to use.

so just install and auto have ssl on my wp sites? What if I already had sites, and how about new sites? Same, just install and that's all?

just check, the plugin is no longer developed. Do you have any alternative?
