@All: I didn't read the book yet but it's interesting that several posters to this thread seem to assume it is geared to women. Nowhere could I find the words "she," "her" or "women" in the limited "teaser" copy in the original post. I did find plenty of words to describe the book's target audience as people, readers, anyone or they (see image below with red underlines), which suggests that in his book, Dr. Jeffrey Dover is talking to everyone and not just females.

In years past, most facial/skin enhancement treatments and plastic surgery clients were white with high incomes and the women far outnumbered the men.

Today, as opportunities for economic advancement widens, adults of all ages and ethnic backgrounds --- both male and female --- have more access to these kinds of treatments and many are taking advantage of them.

So there isn't a "typical" clientele of these kinds of treatments as much as in years past.

It was interesting to read that people of Asian background get these treatments more than any other ethnic group; however, Hispanic and Black people are getting Botox more than ever before.

I also found this interesting article on 2023 stats for Botox procedures:

Who wouldn't want to look 10 years younger? We all yearn for the dewey, soft skin of our youth. Or to "fix" a large or crooked nose, plump thin lips or make other enhancements that boost our confidence in a time when influencing others, taking selfies and having millions of social media followers can make you into an instant celebrity.

Most women --- and men --- want to put their best face forward.

The demographics are shifting as more people (even millennials!) are considering Botox and other enhancements to improve their appearance or prevent the signs of aging.

AND FILLERS IN THEIR 20s?

This used to be the purview mainly of wealthy athletes, celebrities and white women of means but that's slowly changing.
