I don't know why would anyone mess with installing the ssl certificate for the client? I mean, you could do it but why bother?
You are a consultant, not a tech slave.
You show the client they have a problem.
You sell them the "right" tool and you get paid. Cost of ssl, purchase, registration, and your time.
Their "lazy ass" marketers, and "website guys" and "what-not" didn't mention this.
YOU did, so make sure they know.
You "consult", the "workers" install.
Besides, most serious businesses will never let you see their backend. They don't know you.
They don't trust you.
Don't sell cheap ssl's. Be the awesome guy that sells quality.
Serious people with money to spend will NEVER talk to you if you sell "security" for 50 bucks.
So go to namecheap and register for their reseller service.
Get their kick-ass Comodo EV SSL for 2 years for like 200 bucks (100 bucks/year). Sell it for $600. It's 2 years. And move on. $400 in your pocket.
Find people with money. Screw restaurants and plumbers. Scrape doctors, Real estate agents, lawyers. Don't think small. Yes, they have an army of people doing these things for them, but guess what?
Their crappy sites still say http://
They didn't notice.
YOU did.
Don't throw a message and be done with it. Send them at least 6.Make a sequence. Find one here and use it verbatim if you're too lazy.
Use mailerlite or active campaign (40000 emails for new accounts in 1st month.)
That's it.
And yes, I did this. To tell the truth, I told my brother to do it who was looking for extra income.
Simple stuff.
A site on mobirise, upload to github (mobirise does this automatically).
A $1 .xyz on dreamhost.
Some good copy on site, and emails. I scraped and he targeted doctors. In Germany, and the UK.
From their yellow pages.
He sold the ssl's.
The purchase and the registration.
And then the guy who handles their site, made the installation.
That's it.
Good luck.
